Why are Building Permits Required?

Building permits are required to ensure that all buildings are constructed in a safe and healthful manner in accordance with the Ontario Building Code, the Township of Central Frontenac Zoning By-law, as amended, and all applicable laws. They are also required to ensure that a new use in an existing building does not interfere with life and structural safety elements in the existing building.

Conservation Approval

Sometimes, you will require a work permit if you are in your conservation authorities’ regulated area. Before submitting your permit, confirm with your conservation authority that you do not need to acquire a work permit before building.
