In an effort to make the permit process as convenient as possible, most applications can be downloaded from our website by accessing the tabs to the left. Permit packages are also available at our municipal office and contain all of applications required for various types of projects.
Why are Building Permits Required?
Building permits are required to ensure that all buildings are constructed in a safe and healthful manner in accordance with the Ontario Building Code, the Township of Central Frontenac Zoning By-law, as amended, and all applicable laws. They are also required to ensure that a new use in an existing building does not interfere with life and structural safety elements in the existing building.

Conservation Approval
Sometimes, you will require a work permit if you are in your conservation authorities’ regulated area. Before submitting your permit, confirm with your conservation authority that you do not need to acquire a work permit before building.
