Acceptable Materials & Recycling Information
Household Hazardous Waste
In accordance with the restructuring agreement, residents of the Township of Central Frontenac may use the Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Site located at 70 Lappan's Lane, Kingston. (Turn north off Counter Street at the PUC building onto Lappin's Lane).
The fee is $32.00 per household. Site Hours - May to November - Thursday 9:00am - 2:00pm, Second Saturday of each month 9:00 am - 2:00 pm.
Household hazardous waste accepted at the site: paint, motor oil, car batteries, household batteries, propane cylinders, flamables, antifreeze, acid (muratic, etc.), caustic (detergents), oxidizers, fertilizer, pesticides, medications & needles. The quantity of materials to be disposed is limited to 20 litres. The fee must be paid at the Township Office in Shabot Lake before going to the Kingston Site.

Hard cover books (unless cover removed), wax coated cardboard, wax covered boxboard, construction paper, Christmas wrap.

Alumininum and tin food an beverage containers.

Scrap metal (i.e. clothes hangars, cutlery).

Any plastic except those stamped with a number 1-7.

Clear and coloured glass bottles and jars.

Dishes, ceramics, window glass.
Notes
The municipality no longer is able to for recycling any type
of Styrofoam that has been used in the production, storage or
consumption of food (e.g., meat trays, fruit and vegetable trays,
hamburger take-out containers etc). These materials are only accepted as regular garbage.
No charge for recycled items.
Shingles are accepted only at Olden District dump (1094 Olden Park Road), Oso District dump (1122 Wemp Road) and Hinchinbrooke District dump (10180 Road 38).
No charge for brush if put in the burn pile, if placed in the dump
the appropriate fee applies. Wood products are accepted only at
Hinchinbrooke District dump (10180 Road 38).
Wood products are accepted _only_ at Hinchinbrooke District Site (10180
Rd 38).
Recycling bins at each of the above named sites.
Construction Debris & White Goods are only accepted at the Oso District
& Olden District Waste Disposal Sites.
Any Site normally open on December 24 and December 31, will close at
noon. Any Site normally open on December 25 and January 1, will be closed.
