PUBLIC NOTICE

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Township of Central Frontenac will hold a public meeting pursuant to the requirements of Section 17(15) of the Planning Act to consider an amendment to the Official Plan for the Township of Central Frontenac.  The meeting will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 1:00 pm in the Olden Community Hall, 1522 Mountain Grove Road, (Mountain Grove).

To provide an opportunity for members of the public to become more familiar with the proposed Amendment, an Open House will be held Saturday morning from 10:00 am to Noon at the Hall. The consultant will be in attendance to answer your questions or to provide information on the intent and contents of the proposed Amendment.

The amendment to the Official Plan arises from the 5-year review under Section 26 of the Planning Act.  Community Workshops were held to provide an opportunity for input. Key changes to the Plan include: providing clearer policies on the intent and content of Lake Management Plans; clearer policies on private roads; the introduction of new policies for community improvement and the redevelopment of brownfield sites; new policies to encourage alternative energy systems (i.e. wind turbines); new policies for air quality and guidelines for outdoor furnaces; provisions to encourage economic development; criteria for governing seasonal to permanent residential conversions and commercial to residential conversions etc. The Plan includes a number of changes to make the Plan ‘consistent’ with the Provincial Policy Statement of March 2005. A new set of Land Use Plan Schedules has also been prepared which correct or change land use designations and other information. A key map is not provided as the mapping changes affect various lands throughout the municipality.

ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Official Plan Amendment.

IF A PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY that files a notice of appeal of a decision of the Council of the Township of Central Frontenac in respect to the proposed Official Plan Amendment does not make oral submissions at the public meeting or makes written submissions to Council before the Official Plan Amendment is adopted, the Ontario Municipal Board may dismiss all or part of the appeal.

ANY PERSON wishing to receive a Notice of Decision with respect to the proposed Official Plan Amendment must make a written request to the Clerk of the Township of Central Frontenac at the address appearing below.
