Council Budget Session Minutes – March 18, 2008

(These minutes will require approval/adoption at the next regular session of Council)

Council met in special session Tuesday, March 18^th, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. at the Soldiers Memorial Hall , Sharbot Lake.

Present: Mayor, Janet Gutowski

            Councillors, Norman Guntensperger, Bob Harvey, Jeff Matson, John Purdon,             Frances Smith, Gary Smith, Phillip Smith and Bill Snyder

Absent: Councillor Bob Harvey

Also in attendance:             John DuChene, Acting Clerk-Administrator, Judy Gray Treasurer, Michael McGovern, Bryon Dawn, Steve Reynolds and Craig Bakay – Gazette Reporter

The Agenda was introduced.

                        That the agenda be adopted as presented

Staff then proceeded to review the Public Works component of the budget, stating that the initial budget included a significant infrastructure grant request ($1.859million).

Following discussion, staff were directed to bring the budget back for consideration on April 1, 2008, after the grant announcement has been made.

The issue of overtime hours and the impact of a pay-out on the budget was then discussed.

                        That Council approve payment of accumulated overtime hours as                                             presented in the staff report dated March 18, 2008.
