Council Minutes – September 11, 2006
Council met in regular session, Monday, September 11, 2006 at the Community Hall, Mountain Grove.
Present: Mayor, Bill MacDonald
Deputy Mayor, Frances Smith
Councillors: Bill Guigue, Janet Gutowski, Bob Harvey, Logan Murray, Faye
Putnam and Bill Snyder.
Absent: Councilor Jack Nicolson.
Also in attendance Heather Fox – clerk Administrator, Jeff Green – Frontenac News Reporter and Craig Bakay – Gazette Reporter.
Mayor MacDonald opened the meeting and asked for a moment of silence to remember the horrific events of September 11, 2001, which changed our lives forever.
There were no disclosures of Pecuniary Interest when the Mayor called for same.
No one attended, either in support of or opposition to the re-zoning of part Lot 2, Concession 4, Olden District to Water Residential Exception 20 Zone.
A large delegation attended for the public meeting portion of the agenda regarding the Official Plan Amendment for Garrison Shore Condominium application. Jeff Dubois made a presentation in opposition to the Official Plan Amendment. Julian Walker, solicitor for the Garrison Shore Property Owners Association made a presentation requesting Council to proceed with the Official Plan amendment.
Philip Bender and Glenys Wright presented a petition from property owners along the Tryon Road requesting work done on sections of the side road.
Harmen Boersma made a presentation to Council outlining the Service of the “My Community” Program.

That Council request staff to prepare a report to provide recycling bins at all public facilities owned by the municipality as follows: Recycling containers for glass, cans, plastic, paper, cardboard. Containers to be stationary. Collections of recyclables included in caretakers contracts, and that blue boxes be purchased for Community Halls ASAP

Further to the resolution passed by Council on May 6, 2006 requesting a staff report on the recommendations to Council by the Economic Development Committee that staff suggest a series of meetings to be scheduled to discuss separate issues. That the Economic and Recreation Committees be invited. The meetings are to take place at the beginning of regular council meetings.
