COUNCIL MINUTES – October 25, 2005

 

Council met in regular session, Tuesday October 25, 2005 at 9 a.m., at the Community Hall, Sharbot Lake.

 

Present – Mayor, Bill MacDonald

                Deputy Mayor, Faye Putnam

                Councillors – Bill Guigue, Janet Gutowski, Bob Harvey, Logan Murray,

   Jack Nicolson, Frances Smith, & Bill Snyder.

 

Also in attendance – Heather Fox -  Clerk-Administrator, Bill Nicol - Public Works Manager, Jeff Green – Frontenac News Reporter & Kristina Chryssanthis – Gazette Reporter.

 

There were no disclosures of pecuniary interest when the Mayor called for same.

 

Two members of the public attended other than those scheduled on the agenda.

 

Norm Landry attended to discuss and seek some assurance from Council regarding the proposed Railway Museum.

                        That the minutes of October 11, 2005 be adopted as circulated.

That the correspondence from Paul Chaves on behalf of Garrison Shores Association be received and councillors Bob Harvey, Logan Murray, and Jack Nicolson will attend the meeting November 5, 2005.

That the County of Frontenac Year 3 Accessibility Plan be received and endorsed by the Township of Central Frontenac.

That the request from Jim England requesting Council’s support for his request to the Provincial Government (MTO) to erect a culvert for a cattle pass under Highway #7, to ensure movement of his cattle from one side of Highway 7 to the other without disrupting the flow of traffic or putting them at risk of collision with a vehicle, be approved.

                                                                                                                        Carried.

That the accounts payable reports dated October 6, 2005 in the amount of $807,319.02, October 20, 2005 in the amount of $87,161.87 be approved.

That the request from Terry Sauve to stop up, close and convey to him a portion of the road allowance at Lot 21, between Concession 6 & 7, Kennebec District, be approved in principle.

That tender 05-10 to supply and crush aggregates be awarded to Danford Aggregates Ltd. in the amount of $167,200 plus applicable taxes, and that the budget for 2006 reflect this cost.

That the Township proceed with Option 3 of the McCormick Rankin report on the Cranberry Lake Road Bridge and that work commence late winter for demolition to enable new concrete deck to be poured in early spring; and further that McCormick Rankin be authorized to proceed and obtain approvals.
