COUNCIL MINUTES

MAY 27, 2003

Council met in regular session Tuesday, May 27, 2003 at 9:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers, Sharbot Lake.

No members of the public attended.

That Michael McGovern be hired for the position of Tax Clerk/Financial Assistant, effective June 2, 2003 at Step 1 of Level F of the Salary Grid.

That the resolution of the Municipality of Chatham-Kent regarding the incarceration of criminals convicted of first degree murder in minimum security facilities be received and filed.

That the request from AMO to support their position on the designation of road salts under CEPA and the WDO Blue Box Program be endorsed and the appropriate letters sent.

Pursuant to Section 354 of the Municipal Act 2001, taxes be written off on Roll #103906001005200 and the appropriate amounts be charged to the Upper Tier and School Board. Further, that the ownership be corrected by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation to show ownership as Crown.

That the Township of Central Frontenac authorize staff to proceed to have an Interac machine installed at the municipal office.

That the Adopt-A-Highway Program Agreement #01-03 between the Township of Central Frontenac and the Sharbot Mishigama Anishinable Alqonquin First Nation be approved and the appropriate signs installed. The section of road adopted has been established as Road 38 from the Sharbot Lake Causeway to Highway 7.

Pursuant to Section 357 of the Municipal Act, 2001, the assessment be reduced on Roll #103904002050000000, Roland James Irwin in the amount of $38,500 due to fire damage on March 14, 2003.

That the request from Mel Conboy, Darren Castleman and Josh Middleton to fence the K & P rail bed abutting their property be deferred until further information becomes available.

That the request from Philip Rini to straighten out half an S corner on the St. George's Lake Road be denied but that minor repairs be completed to widen, if possible.

That the meeting adjourn until Monday, June 9, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at the Library Building, Mountain Grove.
