COUNCIL MINUTES

Council met in regular session Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at 9:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers, 1084 Elizabeth Street, Sharbot Lake.

Also in attendance Heather Fox - Clerk Administrator, Sandra Clow - Clerical Assistant, Bill Nicol - Public Works Manager, Jay DeBernardi - Director of Fire & Emergency Services, Craig Bakay - Gazette Reporter and Jeff Green - Frontenac News Reporter.

No members of the public attended.

There were no disclosures of pecuniary interest.

Scheduled delegation, Rosemary Bowick, was unable to attend.

The following resolutions were presented

That the agenda of March 25, 2003 be adopted as amended.

That the minutes of March 10th and March 12, 2003 be adopted as circulated.

That the accounts payable dated March 14, 2003 in the amount of $54,855.24 be approved for payment.

That the request from the Blue Skies Community Fiddle Orchestra Committee to sponsor all or part of the cost for one orchestra member to travel to Cape Breton Island in May be referred to the Masonic Lodge, Lion's Club and Royal Canadian Legion.

That the Township of Central Frontenac provide a letter of support to the Land O' Lakes Communications Network for the Rural Broadband Pilot Funding Request (Round 2) and reaffirm financial support of $5,000.00 if the application is selected for funding.

That pursuant to By-law #1998-21, permission is hereby granted for the selling of fireworks from the premises of Halladay's General Store, 1013 Queen Street, Arden, Ontario, and that fireworks are not to be sold to any person or persons under the age of nineteen.

That the request from Art Dunham to harvest firewood on any property owned by the Township in the Arden area be denied.

That the request from the Land O' Lakes Public School Council for a donation to sponsor the Fun Fair be approved and 2 "Back of Sunset Books" and 6 lapel pins be donated.

That the quote of Golder Associates Ltd, in the amount of $44,500.00, plus G.S.T. to provide an inventory of roads and bridges be accepted.

That Council accept, with regret, the resignation of Marlene Halladay, effective August 15, 2003 and wish her every success with her future endeavours.

That the correspondence identified on the agenda as items 9 (a-g) be received for information.

That the request from Rosemarie Bowick for free usage of the community hall be denied pursuant to Section D(4) of By-law #2002-124.

That Council proceed in camera to discuss a proposed or pending acquisition of land for municipal or local board purposes; labour relations or employee negotiations.

That the In Camera meeting return to regular Council.

That the meeting adjourn until Monday, April 14, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at Mountain Grove or the call of the Mayor.
