COUNCIL MINUTES

JULY 22, 2003

Council met in regular session Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at 9:00 a.m. at the Council Chambers, Sharbot Lake.

There were no disclosure of Pecuniary Interest.

The following correspondence was received for information

2. Invitation from Frontenac Community Futures Development Corp
3. Mountain Grove Cemetery Service Report
4. Treasurer's statement of revenues and expenditures

Marion Melnychuck attended to request a lane name change from Lost Lane to Ivy Lane.

Chris Leger, Jim MacPherson, John McDougall, Kathy Sauve and Winnifred Spuehler attended on behalf of the Land O Lake Tourist Association to report on Economic Development. Fundraising efforts will begin for signage and they suggested that their signs could be added to our Welcome to Central Frontenac Signs. They also requested Council's continuing support.

Catherine Erickson and Shawn Carby of Frontenac County attended to request Council's support of their submissions of a GEO Smart letter of intent to access funds for a County Strategic Plan and facilitate a communications and service delivery process.

Terry Goodenough and 5 members of the public attended regarding an "In Camera" session.

Terry Goodenough, the subject of the "In Camera" session requested that the matter be discussed in public forum. This request is to be filed in writing with the Clerk following the meeting. Council agreed to allow Mr. Goodenough to address Council in public forum following which Council would proceed "In Camera".

That the request from Irene Badour to close a portion of the road allowance at part lot 19, concession 3, Oso District be denied and an encroachment permit issued.

That the report of the Livestock Valuer be received and Stefania Dignum paid $100.00 for the loss of a lamb and $200.00 for the loss of an ewe to coyotes.

That the registration fee for the Ontario East Municipal Conference on September 10, 11, 12, 2003 be paid for staff members Heather Fox, Judy Gray and Cathy MacMunn and Councillors Faye R. Putnam, Elva Price and Frances Smith.

That no further action taken on the request from Terry Goodenough and the petition to "Immediately reinstate Terry Goodenough to the Department of Public Works" as Mr. Goodenough's name has not been removed from the casual call in list and that a Policy and Procedure be developed regarding casual employment as soon as possible.
