COUNCIL MINUTES

AUGUST 11, 2003

Council met in regular session, Monday, August 11, 2003 at the Library Building, Mountain Grove.

Also in attendance Heather Fox - Clerk Administrator, Sandra Clow - Clerical Assistant, Jay DeBernardi - Director of Fire & Emergency Services, Mike Depew - Gazette Reporter and Josee Tanner - Frontenac News Reporter.

One member of the public attended other than those scheduled on the agenda.

There were no disclosures of Pecuniary Interest.

Rob Clow attended to request a fence on the south side of the Waste Disposal Site at part lot 19, concession 3, Hinchinbrooke District; gravel and grading on the northern extension of the York Road which he uses as access to his fish pond; and to express his disappointment in Council's decision to not allow temporary storage of hay on the road allowance. Council advised the Public Works Manager would be requested to investigate the first two requests and that Council's decision on the latter request was due to a complaint.

Jay DeBernardi discussed the fire by-law with Council. Amendments were made to be incorporated prior to the third and final reading.

That the request from Marjorie Luscott and Barbara Shumacker to change Empire Lane to Paw Mac Lane be approved, subject to the applicant bearing the costs of re- signage.

That the request from Mark Snider of McIntosh Perry Consulting Engineers Ltd. to stop up, close and convey a portion of the unopened road allowance between the Districts of Bedford, Township of South Frontenac and the District of Oso, Township of Central Frontenac at part lot 1, concession 5, be referred to our Planning Consultant and municipal Solicitor for comments subject to all costs borne by the Developer.

That the request from Wayne Robinson to provide more adequate washroom facilities at the Sharbot Lake beach be referred to the Public Works Manager to investigate possibilities and the cost of steps on each side of the band shell from the road to the bottom of the hill.

That the request from Jennie Hofman to receive a refund due to her error in paying taxes in U.S. funds rather than Canadian funds as required by section 8 of the Tax Rate By-law be approved.
