SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL - September 5th, 2000


Council met in special session at the call of the Mayor on Tuesday, September 5th, 2000 at 7: 00 p.m. at Sharbot Lake with all members present.

The purpose of the meeting was to fill the Oso District vacancy on Council, pursuant to Section 45 of the Municipal Act and to receive the results of the Road 38 tender from Steve Archibald and Bill Nicol.

The following resolutions were presented:


#417 Doug Bearance, Elva Price
That the agenda for the Special Meeting of Council be adopted as presented.
Carried

#418 Doug Bearance, Bob Harvey
That Frances Smith be appointed to fill the vacancy on Council for Oso District to complete the term of office to November 30, 2000.
Carried

Clerk, Heather Fox administered the Declaration of Office and Oath of Allegiance for Frances Smith.

Clarification was received from the author of resolution #395 that it was not the intent to stop construction anywhere else in the township, only Road 38.

Steve Archibald and Bill Nicol were given verbal approval to contact the low bidder, Cruickshank Construction, to negotiate price reductions in the tender and to review any suggestions the contractor may have.
