COUNCIL MINUTES - MAY 26, 1998
Council met in regular session, Tuesday, May 26, 1998 at 8:30 a.m. with all members present.
Michael Dawber attended as North Frontenac News Recorder.
Staff members, Heather Fox, Judy Gray, Cathy MacMunn and Ian Trickett were also in attendance. Public Works Manager, Jim Hegadorn was attending a seminar in Kingston sponsored by OGRA.
There were no delegations.
Janis Blondin's letter was reviewed and it was decided the Public Works Manager should investigate the situation and do whatever minimal work is required.
The Clerk was instructed to contact the OPP and ask for a copy of the contract in order that Council can review it.
Mike Beattie, on behalf of the Oso District Recreation Committee asked all members of Council to participate in the Canada Day Parade and requested Mayor MacDonald to conduct the Official Opening of the festivities.
Permission was granted to the Arden Legion Auxiliary to conduct their bingo at the Kennebec Community Centre at the regular rental fee charged for that facility.
Jack Nicolson requested that the Kennebec District Waste Disposal Site be open on Holiday Mondays. The request was denied.
Doug Bearance presented a paper regarding Area Rating. The Clerk was instructed to prepare a resolution for the next meeting to address Area Rating.
A budget meeting has been set for June 11th at 2:00 p.m.

at 35 hours per week.

WHEREAS, there is the potential for the City of Kingston, the Frontenac Management
Board, and the Townships of North Frontenac, Central Frontenac, South Frontenac and
Frontenac Islands to provide services for each other on an "as requested basis", and
WHEREAS , in order that each municipality can benefit from such an arrangement, the
municipalities agree that they will invoice the municipalities for the cost incurred;
WHEREAS , it is acknowledged that there is an inherent administration cost involved
whenever a service is provided to another municipality at cost;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Township of Central Frontenac hereby
accepts the principle that in the event one of the municipalities within the geographic
County of Frontenac provides services requested by the Township of Central Frontenac,
the Council is prepared to pay the invoice for labour, equipment and material at cost plus
an overhead/administrative fee of 10%.

That Michael Dawber be authorized to publish the minutes of the council of the
Township of Central Frontenac in whatever newspaper, servicing any or all of the
said Township, he feels appropriate, provided there is no cost to the Township for
this publication.
