Township Council Minutes - June 11, 1998

COUNCIL MINUTES - JUNE 11, 1998


Council met in special session Thursday, June 11, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. for the
purpose of discussing budget items, unfinished items from the June 8th agenda
and other matters brought forth by the Clerk. All members were present, with
Elva Price arriving after 3:00 p.m. due to the graduation of her Granddaughter.
Staff members Heather Fox, Judy Gray, Cathy MacMunn and Jim Hegadorn were also
in attendance.

Jack Nicolson, Doug Bearance and Robert Harvey advised they had inspected the
"Newlove Road". Heather Fox and Jim Hegadorn were instructed to investigate the
files and try to determine whether or not the road was deemed to be a township
road to the original farm house. They were also instructed to determine what a
"Forced Road" constitutes. Due to the tremendous work load, staff to report
back to Council within 2 months.

The following resolutions were passed:

#299 Lloyd Lee, Mike Beattie
That agenda of June 11, 1998 be adopted as amended.

#300 Robert Harvey, Mike Beattie
That Council adopt the resolution of the Committee of Adjustment,
that staff
members investigate severance and minor variance applications,
unless it is a
controversial issue. Should this be the case, members of the
Committee will
attend the site prior to their regular meeting.

#301 Jack Nicolson, Doug Bearance
That the clerk be authorized to advertise for a summer student with
the wage to be
set at $6.85 per hour for 35 hours per week for 10 weeks, if time
allows, if not then
for a period of 9 weeks. The wage to be subsidized at $2.00 per
hour by the 1998
Summer Jobs Service Program.

#302 Doug Bearance, Richard Harwood
That the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign the agreement to
formally accept
the offer to purchase the CP Line - Glen Tay to Havelock.

#303 Mike Beattie. Faye R. Putnam
That residents of Central Frontenac wishing to use the Hazardous
Waste disposal Site in
the City of Kingston at a rate of $30.00 per car, pay for the
service at the Municipal
Office in Sharbot Lake prior to using the Kingston Site.

#304 Lloyd Lee, Mike Beattie
That By-law #1998-21, being a By-law to regulate the use and sale of
Fireworks
within the Township of Central Frontenac, be read a first, second
and third time
and passed at one meeting.
Carried

#305 Jack Nicolson, Lloyd Lee
That the Oso District Recreation Committee be given approval to hold
a fireworks
display at Oso Beach on July 1, 1998. The fireworks to be
administered by a
Licensed Supervisor and the Fire Department to be on stand by.
Carried

#306 Richard Harwood, Doug Bearance
That this meeting adjourn.
