Notice of Election Information

The Township of Central Frontenac is conducting the municipal election in accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, S.O. 1996, Chapter 32, as amended, and has chosen to use an alternative voting method pursuant to S. 42(1)(b), which involves the use of a Mail-in-Ballot pursuant to By-law 2000-69.
Each individual on the Voter's List as of October 5, 2006 will receive a Voting Kit from Canada Post.  The kit will contain:

  • A ballot
  • A white secrecy inner envelope for your completed ballot
  • A yellow postage-paid reply envelope (if mailed within Canada)
  • A voter Declaration Form
  • Instruction Sheet

The kits will be mailed out between October 16th and October 20th, 2006.  Ballots should be completed and mailed back to the municipality by Friday, November 3, 2006.  Should you choose not to mail your vote, completed voting kits may be delivered to the Municipal Office, 1084 Elizabeth Street, Sharbot Lake during regular office hours and until 8:00 p.m. on November 13, 2006.   Remember, Monday, November 13, 2003, (Election Day) is a holiday for Canada Post.   Ballots received after 8:00 p.m. on November 13, 2006 will not be counted.

Eligible voters who have not received a Voting Kit after October 23rd should contact the municipal office.  Upon determination of eligibility to vote by authorized election personnel, individuals will be issued a Voting Kit up to 7:55 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2006.

Use of the Vote-By-Mail eliminates the need for advance voting, proxy voting and voting places

Any visually impaired person may contact the municipal office in writing to request a template.  The request must be received on or before October 13, 2006.
