Information Technology Department

The Information Technology Department (IT) is a support service department whose responsibility it is to develop and maintain the IT infrastructure which sustains the Township computer applications.  Beyond hardware and software the goal is to provide leadership, professional direction, expertise and assistance in the area of Information Technology and Information Systems to all internal departments.

IT focuses on maximizing the effectiveness of the corporate network infrastructure, the enterprise server and storage system, and the system-level applications.   It provides leadership for workflow, collaboration and web-based initiatives within the Corporation.

Geomatics

Also included in the Information Technology Department is Geomatics.

As a Municipal Government, the Township is responsible for managing the assets, services, and systems that connect activities for employees, residents, businesses and visitors to the community.

Geomatics is the discipline of gathering, storing, processing, and delivering of geographic information, or spatially referenced information.  Geomatics encompasses a broad range of fields, which brought together can create spatial data that provide a detailed and understandable picture of the physical world and our place in it.
Where we live, work and play defines “place”.

Geomatics’ goal is to create one source for spatial data at the Township and provide spatial information to staff and citizens.
